Discover the P.S. 34 Difference

At P.S. 34, we re all about moving forward, starting with showing up. Our strong attendance culture, dedicated staff, and enriching programs help students build habits that lead to success in school and in life.

Literacy at the Heart

Our Obsession. Our Foundation.

At PS Q34, literacy is more than reading and writing—it's how we connect, question, and grow. Our commitment to literacy shows up in every corner of our school community:

In the Classroom

Students engage in interactive, collaborative reading strategies across all subjects—from science to social studies—building comprehension and critical thinking skills.

Across the Curriculum

Every subject supports literacy. Whether students are solving word problems in math or analyzing primary sources in history, reading and communication skills are always front and center.

At Home

Families are our partners. We host reading nights, literacy workshops, and provide take home resources so learning continues beyond the school day.
